Tickets vanished faster than a canapé at cocktail hour as Taste in the Glebe once again proved it is one of Ottawa’s most deliciously in-demand nights out. The 26th edition of the beloved fundraiser sold out in mere minutes, packing 350 eager food lovers into the Glebe Community Centre on Wednesday, Jan. 28, for one of the city’s most welcoming cocktail-style evenings, where jeans and cocktail dresses mingled just as easily as neighbours and friends.

With more than 40 Ottawa-area restaurants, vintners, brewers and distillers donating both their time and their tastiest creations, guests sipped, sampled and socialized their way through an evening of crowd-pleasing flavours. No tickets were required once inside, just comfortable shoes and an appetite for fun.

The night was not just about indulgence. By evening’s end, the event raised an impressive $34,892, all earmarked for the GNAG Community Development Fund. Executive director Sarah Routliffe said every dollar will support essential programs at the community centre, including financial assistance for families accessing camps, one-on-one integration support for children with exceptionalities and a new community outreach subsidy helping local organizations tap into arts programming. A major youth room renovation is also on the menu.

“They are donating all of their delicious creations as well as all of their time,” Routliffe said, praising the generosity of participating food and beverage partners. Good food, great company and a cause that truly feeds the community, Taste in the Glebe once again delivered a full plate, and then some.
