The Glebe’s own award-winning Sommelier Phil Nicholson is up to his old tricks with the return of his enormously popular Culinary Caravan tasting events at some of the most creative and delightful restaurants in the region. (Past events included gezellig in the west end, Les Fougères in Chelsea, and The Village House in Wakefield.)

How it works:

• Phil arranges a special fixed-price tasting menu created just for us, showcasing each restaurant’s finest fare, including vegetarian options.

• The restaurant also offers an optional wine pairing designed to perfectly complement the fare, or guests may order beverages a la carte—to be decided on site.

• We arrange affordable school-bus transportation between the Glebe Community Centre (GCC) and the restaurant for a safe, convenient and worry-free evening.

• Throughout the evening the Chef meets with us to share enthusiasm and culinary secrets.

Our first Culinary Caravan for 2024 will be at the acclaimed restaurant gather in the historic town of Perth. The bus will leave the Glebe Community Centre (GCC) at 3:15 pm for arrival in Perth at about 4:15 pm…allowing a delightful pre-dinner stroll before convening at gather by 5:30 pm. gather will be offering a welcome sparkling wine or mocktail on arrival! After dinner, the bus will depart at approximately 8:00 pm, returning to the GCC by about 9:00 pm.
