Whether you currently draw or paint, join us in this relaxed, supportive environment where Nina offers one on one guidance and instruction as it applies to your areas of interest. Learn techniques in drawing, measuring, use of plumb lines, shading (tones), practical colour mixing using a limited palette, brushwork, and about composition, perspective, creating depth, solving problem areas and more. This is a dynamic class; you work on the subject matter of your choice from reference photos you bring in or select from a collection of class reference photos. Work on a new piece, bring in old ones for advice, the choice is yours.

Nina has a drawing fundamentals and painting curriculum with extensive reference material and uses demonstrations and PowerPoint presentations in her classes. Presentations are recorded and available to class participants on YouTube.

Media: graphite pencil, coloured pencils, charcoal, soft pastels, water soluble coloured pencils (with brushwork), pen and ink, oil and acrylic paint. You are welcome to try out a new medium using our class supplies (try before you buy!).

Please note this is not a class for complete beginners, some prior experience in
drawing or painting is recommended (it’s fine if it’s been a while).
